Ingredients

Adjust servings 4 servings

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, about 6 ounces each
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Small bowl
  • Tongs
  • Instant-read food thermometer

Instructions

Air Fry

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F if your model recommends preheating.
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry. If one end is much thicker than the other, gently pound the thickest area so the breasts are more even in thickness.
  3. Rub the chicken with olive oil. Mix the garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper, then season both sides evenly.
  4. Arrange the chicken breasts in a single layer with space around them. Cook in batches if necessary rather than stacking or crowding the basket.
  5. Air fry for 12-16 minutes, flipping halfway through. Begin checking early because air fryer models and breast thickness vary.
  6. Remove each breast when an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part registers 165°F.
  7. Rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Air fryer cooking speed varies considerably by model and chicken thickness; internal temperature is the reliable doneness check.
  • Do not stack the chicken breasts; circulating hot air is necessary for even cooking.
