Ingredients

Korean-Style Chicken

  • 1 1/2 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tbsp coconut aminos
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp finely minced fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds, for serving
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced, for serving

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl or resealable container
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Grill or air fryer
  • Instant-read meat thermometer

Instructions

Prepare & Marinate

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry thoroughly with paper towels and place them in a large mixing bowl or resealable container.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the honey, gochujang, coconut aminos, sesame oil, ginger, garlic and paprika until smooth and well combined.
  3. Pour the marinade over the chicken and toss until every piece is evenly coated.
  4. Cover and refrigerate until ready to cook. For more flavor, marinate for at least 30 minutes and up to 24 hours.

Grill

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  2. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off.
  3. Grill for about 5–7 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until caramelized and the thickest part reaches at least 165°F (74°C).
  4. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes, then garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Air Fryer

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
  2. Arrange the chicken thighs in a single layer, working in batches if needed.
  3. Air fry for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until browned and the thickest part reaches at least 165°F (74°C).
  4. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes, then garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
